Every month we have an awesome time with the 𝗛𝗦𝗦 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀. This month we are switching it up a bit!
Normally, the talented community gathers together once a month to submit original songs and at the end of the month we all listen to the submissions together. (𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘶𝘯 by the way...)
There is one winner chosen and they receive a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 mix and master from Robert McClellan of Home Studio Simplified on their winning submission. But wait, here's the cool part, the mix is done LIVE so everyone can benefit from it and even ask questions in real time,
So, how will this month differ from others? Glad you asked! This month we are having a 𝙈𝙞𝙭 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩!
Recently, the community released a collaborative song called "The Crossroads". Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to mix the song for yourself! You'll have full access to the multitracks and once your mix is completed, whether you win or not, you can add this to your portfolio. (And yes, even if you don't submit a mix, you can have the multitracks)
Speaking of winning... this is the first contest with an actual prize! The winner will receive a plug-in bundle from the awesome folks over at 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀!
Although the winner will be notified via email, be sure to 𝗦𝗨𝗕𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗕𝗘 to the YouTube channel and 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹 notification so you'll be aware of when the results go live as well!

Enter your email in the form and submit it, shortly after you'll receive an email with the download link to the multitracks. Once your masterpiece is done, come back to the form and sign in to upload your tracks. Best wishes!
Official Rules:
• Submit your email so we can deliver the multitracks to your inbox
• Once your mix is finished, upload it to the G-Drive folder below
• Label your entry as “Your Name – Crossroads Contest“
• Make sure your mix is downloadable so when can repost it later, if you win.
• This is a mixing contest and NOT a remixing contest. All arrangements and production should be left as is. Any entries with alterations in the production, will be disqualified
• Sample replacement is okay if you feel it is necessary, just remember that your choice of sounds may hurt you as much as they may help you.
• “Mastering” is optional. You aren’t being judged on how loud your mix is, rather how musical and emotional it sounds.
•If you aren’t going to master the song, it’s best practice to have the peaks at a reasonable level (-3 to -6dBFS) so it’s not too quiet.

-FAQ-
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻 -The contest begins May 1st, 2021 - As soon as your email is provided you will receive the multitracks within a day or two. You have 27 days to mix the song so the sooner the better!
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 -Entry process will close on May 28th, 2021 @ midnight! Winner will be announced through email and a Facebook post, the week of June 4th!
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝘅 -The winning mix will be posted on the Facebook page as well as shared on the YouTube channel, after the winner has been announced.
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝘅 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 -This track is a previous release from a couple of months ago. The winning mix will be shared on all HSS social accounts with full credit given to the contestant.
𝗜𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝘅 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 -Besides the accolades and interview you’ll get with HSS, you will most certainly be credited for your work if the track is used/released in the future. Consider winning this competition the same thing as a normal mixing gig. You get compensation for your work (plugin bundle) and you will also receive the credit if the song is released.
